The session will cover practical strategies for conducting trauma-informed interviews, including how to build rapport, recognize trauma responses, establish emotional and psychological safety, and ways to avoid re-traumatization.
This training is designed for Protective Services (PS) professionals to understand vicarious trauma—its definition, impact, and relevance to PS work—and to provide practical strategies for building and maintaining resilience in the field. The course will also highlight tools and resources available to sustain well-being and professional effectiveness. a responses, establish emotional and psychological safety, and ways to avoid re-traumatization.
This interactive training module will guide the APS professional through common myths and facts about aging and explore how these beliefs may influence APS interventions and decision-making. Recognizing and challenging misconceptions about aging enables professionals to conduct accurate assessments while promoting the well-being, safety, and self-determination of the individuals served through APS.
